American macaroni and cheese are not the same as Italian or Russian macaroni. This is quite a casserole! For cooking, you can use horns, shells, pans, or loose pasta.
ingredients
- Pasta pipe rigate 400 g.
- Chicken egg 1 piece.
- Butter 80 g.
- Wheat flour 50 g.
- Milk 750 ml.
- Mustard powder 2 teaspoons.
- Hard cheese 400 g.
- Salt to taste.
- Ground black pepper to taste.
Cooking:
Step no.1
In salted water, cook pasta until it is half done.
Step no.2
Cut the butter into small cubes using a kitchen knife set and melt the butter cubes in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook for a few minutes with the flour, stirring constantly.
Step no.3
Add milk and dry mustard and mix until smooth. Then, without stopping stirring, cook the sauce until it thickens.
Step no.4
Take some sauce and in a separate bowl mix it quickly with the raw egg. Then pour the sauce back into the pan with the egg. Add most of the grated cheese, leaving 50g to cook, to taste.
Step no.5
Mix the pasta with the sauce and place it in a baking dish. The remainder of the cheese should be sprinkled over the top, then baked for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees until golden brown.
